My pet shop guy ordered this for my 220 I think he under shot it a bit

I had that skimmer before the impeller broke.. You need to keep it in a chamber with the water level constant and dialed in. If you can I would try to order a reef octopus recirculating skimmer, a skimmer is one of the most important pieces of equipment for nutrient export. And always get the best one you can afford.

I didnt see good reviews in this and the box hasn't even been open im thinking im going to return and upgrade I appreciate my fish guy saving me money but this wont do

You wont go wrong with a reef octopus, a general rule is always buy twice the rated system volume for the skimmer. If your 220g, then look for a skimmer that can handle 400g and up.
