Ding2daDong what is that???el cheapo???

Coralife makes cheap beginner aquarium equipment. They do have some okay light fixtures but in general the is cheap and prone to more problems.

I would stay away from more safisticated aquarium equipment from companies like this. A calcium reactor I would not recommend from them but a light fixture/moonlights/temp gauge etc are okay.

What's the question?

Would I recommend one? - Probably not.
Does it work? - Yes. I wouldn't count on the pump though.

If you already have it then maybe I can help. I had one in the past but have since upgraded

Ding2daDong that's why I ask they lights are not that bad but I din`t have any idea about other equipment,I need to buy a good CR the tank that I`m building is pretty big :D

Geo, Deltec, reeftek, and maybe bermuda are the only calcium reactors I would entrust on my tank. Same goes for kalk reactor. Great products with great customer service and a huge following.

I've only had the Coralife that I upgraded to a Korallin. The Korallin is just sitting here as my weekly water changes are able to keep my CA level up so far.

So I can't even give judgment on the Korallin reactor but I'm pretty sure it will work nicely when the day comes that I do need it.

Your first question to yourself should also be, "Do I even need it?"

I'm a firm believer in minimal equipment. Unless your tank is stocked to the point that you can not maintain your CA level through weekly water changes (that you should be doing anyway) then you don't even need the CA reactor.

Just checked out your gallery. If that tank is the tank you are thinking of using the CA reactor on it appears that it is softie dominated. If this is the case I would say, "Save your money" - "Do water changes"

\thanks guys for urs fast replys,I will try ebay and see if i can find a good deal :) coralfragger101 that was my 150g long time a go now is fish only but aquarium mart is building me a 375g that like rogger same size {I got the glass before roger so I`m not coping him :) } I want to try some easy SPS and off cure softies and LPS ............

thanks

A buddy of mine use the Coralife on a 220 gallon and his sps are growing well. It maintains the ALK and CA. It may not be made of 1/4" Plexiglases, but it does the job.

Bottom line, they all melt rocks. LOL
I am thinking about getting one for my 90. I have the MR2 and I am willing to sell it to you for the price of a coralife. The MR2 is too big for my needs. I want something to fit under my tank.

If you ever happen up to Barrier Reef in Boca, their main display has the coralife reactor. The guy working there said that it's okay, not great. Their tank looks decent too, not great, but good enough.

My vote is for Deltec, Geo, Korallin, in that order.

I'd recommend the GEO.

The Deltec is a much more efficient reactor, but the media is very expensive since it is a fluidizing reactor. Unless you put other media in it which would totally contradict the idea of getting the Deltec in the first place.

You can use any media in the Deltec reactor. There is absolutly nothing special about the usage of the media, other than that the reactor is designed for reverse flow, which can be done with their media, any of the ARM media, the Gen-X, or any shuran-style media.

The Deltec is efficient because it's consistent as anything, has an aquabee pump, and because of the reverse flow method that the Geo shares, which is why the Geo is so stable as well. Any reactor that is reverse-flow (bottom upward) is a fluidized reactor to my knowledge.

I could very well be wrong, but I'm interested in your take, djfrankie, on what is special about the Deltec compared to the Geo.

I second the GEO I have one and it it an awesome piece of equipment. I am very happy with my purchase and dialing it in was not too bad as it was my first reactor.
