Coralife Skimmer 65 skims for a few days, then stops?

I've got a Coralife Superskimmer 65 on my 29 gallon reef. Pulls some nice gunk, here's a picture of the skimmate after a couple of days:

Only thing is, that it will skim to that level, and then pull no more gunk out. If I clean the collection cup, it'll skim to that level again, and then stop pulling gunk. Clean, skims to that level, stops pulling gunk. Repeat. Anyway, is that how this think operates, where I need to clean the collection cup every couple of days? I don't mind, I'm just wondering why it stops pulling gunk after a couple of days. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Daily baking soda and calcium supplements, but I don't think that's the issue. I dose it on the days it's pulling that gunk and days it's not.

When the inside of the neck gets dirty, its harder for the bubbles to rise. You either have to keep adjusting it, or clean the thing.

If you're only filling hte cup up about 10% of the way, run a little wetter, the skimmer will stay clean much longer, and thats better for your tank.

OK, thanks for the replies. I'll continue to clean every day or so, and maybe run a bit wetter.
