Corallimorph can they absorb nitrate

As the title suggest is it possible for Corallimorphs to absorb nitrates, similar to xenia which does well in nutrient waters (NO3, PO4), I have a small 5gal nano, with two coral gobys 1 corallimorph that is growing really quick and next to near zero nitrates. Have not done any recent water changes, no macros in the tank either just a small pile of live rock in the centre and a zoo colony

Anyone any thoughts, evidence of this?
