Coralline Turning White!?!?

Well like the title says, pretty much all the coraline in my tank is turning pure white right now. I originally thought that my coraline was dying because of my light being too strong, but now I am not 100% sure that is the case. I have a retro 6x54w standard driven T5 setup. Anyone else see thier coraline just turn white using T5s????? Ive had them in there for about 2-3 months and it seems just recently that it REALLY started turning white fast. It has withered away slowly for a while, but the last few days it has seemed much worse than before. It was growing like made before this. Any ideas?

You are keeping the Calcium up around 400 or better rite?as well as the mag,and alk?

A change in the lights can cause this but usualy the demands for coraline growth are in question when it all turns on you.

I run T5's and am having a bit of the same problem but not quite to that extent. My coraline looks like someone splattered it with white paint. My coraline is still growing but it has these white spots all over it. I run a nova T5 extreme. I still feel that my problem might be a bit of a natural cyling issue but we will see.

A nova extreme doesnt produce even close to the PAR that my unit does....so if you have loss of coralline, then that explains it. My params are:

Alk 7.7dkh
Ca 420
Mag 1350

Those are dead on what I want them so that isnt the problem....The fact that there is coralline in the shaded areas tells me its the light, but I was just wanting to hear you opinions as well.

What's the reason for wanting to run the Alk that low? Typically, the recommendation is 9-12 dKH, and prevent dropping it below 8 dKH.

FWIW, My coralline also speckled and lightened up once I upgraded to more intense lighting.

mine turned white once i added a MH pendant 250w i was and still am running the PC's as well... the coraline is coming back i havent done anything differently so i assume its the lights in my case

Noticed the same thing when I upgraded from 120 watt pcs to 14k 175 halides. All the coraline on the surface of the rock closest to halide bleached in a major way. The coraline on the sides of the rock is all good though. Could parameter changes in Ca and Mag cause low tolerance to intense light?
