Correct amount of Flow

My title holds true, I am a serious noobie to this stuff.

I just installed a friends existing setup here and this is my first tank, I am just concerned about the amount of flow.

That nozzle should not be shooting out air like the photo. What do you plan on keeping (LPS, SPS...)? Sps like a lot of flow while softies and lps usually end up most comfortable in medium flow. Have you checked out the koralia nano or the tunze nanostreams?

I cant tell but is all you have the return? (no powerheads) if you dont have anything else, youll probably want to get one or more powerheads. Let us know some more details, size of tank (looks like a nanocube?), return pump, etc. and we can give you a more detailed response. oh, and welcome to the CMAS board at RC!

I will post up a newbie thread, I was trying to hide it so wife didnt see that I got it yet. I told her we were not picking it up till saturday


all I did is drop the intake down a little to allow MORE water in and now there is no more cloud like that.

I was not sure if I wanted that cloud of air or not.
