Correct pronunciation of zooxanthellae?

Zo-a-zan-thelly is what it is saying. I was wrong above if this is the accepted pronunciation of it.

sorry for the dumb question, but its driving me crazy.
I don't think it's a dumb question at all, and you're definitely not alone! Some of us spend so much time researching through reading, and so little time actually speaking to other hobbyists and using scientific names that when it comes time to say a name out loud it can be daunting trying to get it right. I've seen people actually skirt around having to use a scientific name at times when it would make something much clearer, and I know that (just like me) they're not sure on the pronunciation. I enrolled in Latin class when I was in university, now I wish I hadn't dropped it! :)

ZOH-zan-THELL-ee

This is the correct pronunciation for the plural form of the word (zooxanthellae)

I believe it is zo-zanthela.

This is the correct pronunciation of the singular form of the word (zooxanthella).
