Saw it's brother on ebay going for a fortune, so I went straight to the seller and asked if he had any more. Lucky day! Had this one for sale in the store! I think it's quite a find...

Has a couple of babies attached to the side of the rock, you can see a little bit of one on the right side...

Already have it sitting in the tank! Been there for about 4 days or so, doing great. I think that there are a total of three babies attached, so I'll probably offer them up in a little while!

Good luck with the yumas. I'm gonna stick with ricordia floridas mostly. Yumas have a bad track record and a lot of the nice ones always somehow one day just melt away.

In a previous thread there was a crazy pink yuma from reefready and it already is gone. R. Floridas can have just as cool of a color and are much more hardy and forgiving.

Actually I think thats black sand just emphasizing the actinics. But yeah mileage always varies when you put something from one tank into another with different light

best of luck keeping that guy

And yumas are great- I think it just takes a lot of care and patience to find a healthy specimen from the get go and ot keep it that way

I've seen some spectacular ones out there but as stunning as their colors are its so important to inspect the whole shroom- does it have a well developed mouth and foot, etc.. some of the really nice ones I 've seen just don't look so hot coming in I'd be afraid to take them home

As to the ones that randomly melt away :( I'm not sure what it would be but wish we knew so we could avoid it

be careful ive herd of people being burned by buying yumas on line and when they recieved it it looked nothing like the one they tought they were gonna get

I have seen some in front of me that have been neon and bright like that- they are definitely rare to come by but definitely also exist.

If you're finding them on ebay though yes caution is definitely important! Make sure you're getting from a seller with lots of good positive feedback and possibly one with a guarantee for live arrival\contingency plan should something go wrong during shipping

I actually had one sort of similar once, but it bleached out and is now just banana yellow and ever so slowly possibly on the come back. Some days it looks like it might come back, others not so much :(

I have a grayish yuma with a pink base, when looking from the top down of the tank. From the side, it is less vibrant shade. When I take a picture of it with my camera from the top down, it looks like blue with pink base.

So I know how difficult it is to capture the true color of a coral. Sometimes, it is the lighting like strong actinics / 20k. Sometimes, it is the white balance of the camera not being set correctly.

I think the photo is using a lot of 20k or actinic when taken because it is glowing neon and the background has a slight blue color as well.

It definetly shows those colors, no doubt. I've got it under much less overall wattage and actinic, and it still looks amazing. Not misrepresented in any way, I'm really happy with it!
