i bought a 5inc crocea 2 weeks ago but have a question? why does it keep turning slightly on its side and still not attached it's on the sand bed and looks good should i be concern

i am not an expert, but most croceas like to attach to a rock. try finding a flat piece of LR or a flat seashell. bury it a bit in the sand and put the clam on it. it should attach itself to it in a week or so. the clam will excrete acid that will wear a hole in the rock for him to attach his foot. i have only heard of a few croceas liking a sandy base to live in.

ya, croceas are found on the rocks in nature. They prefer a hard substrate to get their byssal threads onto.

Where to place a Crocea

Where to place a Crocea

I am getting ready to purchase a Crocea. It will be in a 20G with 150W Coralife MH light. I would like to place it on a flat rock directly under the MH light on the sand bed. It will be about 14 inches from the light but directly under it. Sound ok?

I would put it up higher, crocea are the most light demanding of the t. clams and 150watts isn't that much.
