Crocea's color

Not sure if this question has been asked, but I've searched like crazy and can't find anyone mention this...

My Crocea has been in my tank for about 3 months and is growing great. It's about 12 inches from the surface but is on the slope of a rock so it's not parallel to the lights and the clam continues to lower and rotate itself. My lights are 4 HO T-5's and the color of the clam looks great from above, but if you look at it from the side, it's starting to look lighter and lighter. Is this a sign of bleaching? Could this be from the Zoo's it's crowding? Can I remove it from the rock so I can relocate it? How should I try without damaging it?

BTW Tank is 65G 36*18*24, 75lbs LR, 3in DSB, Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates just a trace, Calcium 400, Alk 4.5, SG 1.025... And I have 3 other clams (Derasa, Hippo and Squamosa) on the sand bed and are growing and looking just fine...

Thanks!

Sounds like the clam is trying to find a spot it likes best. May not be getting enough light and so it is loosing color. I would think T-5's would be enough but I don't run them so not sure. Hopefully a T-5 clam owner will chime in. You may check to see if it is attached deeply into the rock or if you are able to move it. If so I would try to move it up closer to the lights. Just my 2 pennies.

Thanks Jeff, Enid huh? I spent 1st and 2nd grade there. :) (Dad was stationed at Vance AFB)

Well last night I decided to move the clam directly under the light (about 8 inches below it) I slowly rocked the clam side to side until it finally released. I moved it where I wanted it and I could see it already starting to re-attach when I went to bed. Well I got up this morning to find it on the bottom of the tank and a chunk of threads laying next to it... I move it back up but had to go to work. Will the Clam regrow the threads that it lost?
