Cutting Cladiella inside tank

New member
I have a Cladiella soft coral that has grown too big and I want to fragment it by making some cuttings in order to make room around it. I can not remove it from the tank because it is attached to several big rocks. My question is: is it safe to cut it inside the tank. I know that some soft corals (e.g. Xenia) emit some toxins or similar when cut and this casuses the other corals inside the tank to close for several days.

Appreciate feedback

You won't have a problem cutting it inside the tank. I used to use a pair of scissors to cut mine right before a water change. No problem.
