Cutting slit in optix acrylic sheet????

I have a sheet of Optix "acrylic sheet" by Plaskolite.inc

Is this the same acrylic as typical aquarium acrylic?

How do I cut a slit in the Optix acrylic sheet that is about 1 inch by 1/8 of an inch? The slit needs to be about 1/2" from the edge of the Optix acrylic. The cut does not need to be perfect.

Would a dremel with a diamond cutter work?

You don't need a diamond bit to cut acrylic, a regular dremel cutting bit will work just fine.

I would use a plunge router if it were mine. I think there may be a dremel attachment that would work about the same
