Debating on a tunze stream

Hi, I am currently debating on getting a tunze stream. I currently have a 90 gallon aga rr tank. My return pump is putting out right at 550-600 gph. I am using two AquaClear 402 powerheads. If I get a stream I will be getting the TS07.

Right now I have mostly soft corals and a few leathers. I plan on having a little of everything later on, with the exception of SPS. This could change though. Could you tell me how exactly my tank would benefit by using the stream rather than my current powerheads. I am trying to justify the expense to both my wife and myself. ;)

Also, about how long will it be until they are available? I plan on ordering from Premium Aquatics.

Here is my tank so maybe you could also recommend placement for me. I have added a couple of corals to the tank since this pic but nothing major.

Well you would definetly get more flow, but they are rather unsightly and extremely powerful. IMO they only make sense on larger tanks as they are also quite expensive and if you just got a few more powerheads they would be cheaper. I think with your return a sea swirl might be a better investment.

You would get more flow with the Stream. The 6000 uses 15w of power while you currently are using 24w to produce a fraction of the flow. This means you are producing more heat. A Stream will last nearly for ever with proper care, has sophisticated control systems enabling pulsing and electronic flow control. It runs on low voltage so if something ever cut the cord you could never be injured.

As for large they are the size roughly of a hagen 802 and the overall area taken up would be less than your current two pumps so that is a moot point.

As for expense a Seaswirl is $150, and while it is a great product if you add a larger return pump expense is also a moot point. The same can be said of a couple more powerheads and a wavemaker. In the long run with the life span, energy costs and repairability even after warranty- the cost is far less.

In regards to availability, it has been a rough start this year and only now are Streams shipping again. I have 6060 and 6100 in transit and 6080 in stock but the 6000's are likely a few weeks away as they share the same components as a 6100 and I just had a batch run made that will be sent this week. With any luck next week they can run a series of 6000's.

rvitko,

Are you from a dealer for the tunze stream ? Can we order through you or do we have to go through the supplier ?

Thanks,

Mattt.

I am the distributor and importer for Tunze. Their are no Stream pumps here or anywhere else at this time excluding the 6080 and today I shipped out a fair amount of 6060's. I do not sell direct and suggest you place an order and wait for them to arrive it is rare that we actually have inventory on models 6000 and 6100 they are usually sold before they arrive and because they are complicated, hand made and tested before they ship production capacity is limited.

Well, I am ordering my Turbelle Stream Kit 6010 from Premium Aquatics today. Do you have any idea when I can expect them to get them in?

Thanks!

They will get them with any luck in 2 weeks. They left Germany today. Now, kit 6010 doesn't exist anymore. It is TS07 same thing but too seperate boxes and a bit more expensive.

That explains why my bill says:
1 T6000.000 Turbelle Stream
1 T7091.000 Single Controller

It also explains why it is abou $4 more than the price on their website. I wasn't about to ask why there was an extra charge, especially for that little amount. Is it alright if I give PA a little credit for having such a great staff while I am here?

No problem. I chose my internet vendors based on service and amount of time in the business and geograpic location so I already know they are a great group of guys.
