i just notice for the past day an a half my dendro has not been fully open even when i feed him. do they just close up sometimes. the dendro is not near anything that will sting it. any idea?
that where i put it from the first i brought it. so if it didnt like the flow then why did it decide to close up now. it not totally close just not open up 100%
As a note ... I just found out that you can feed a Dendro to death One of my prizes I had gotten into the habit of placing the syringe with squid right into his mouth and filling him up... BUT since 2 days ago he never finished his food or reopened and now some of his skeleton is showing It was like he couldnt finish the swallow and choked to death...what a horrid death
Sorry to hear about your dendros =\ i wil be attempting one soon as my LFS has started fraggin some.
I think the "anything in moderation" rule is pretyt good for feeding and flow and what not...
You could try moving and see what yours likes.. or check it at night to see if it is hungry then ktar. Most people have to train theirs to open in the day
when i first got mines a few weeks ago it stay open all the time. only time it close up is when it pitch dark with no light watsoever. it ok now it fully open again after two day without feeding it. maybe doc is rite to much feeding is not to good. i notice they will try to consume whatever you give them but if you feeed it too much it tend to close up and try to digest the foood.
doc is right. I also fed mine to death too, also squid! I kept the dead pieces in the sump and a few weeks later I noticed some babies from the dead pieces. Now I have 8 dendro babies 100% tank rise One of them died months ago stung by smaller bad anemone. Yes dendro can be stung.
looks like my dendro is back to normal now it opened up again. i will probably only feed it 3 times a week, because before i use to feed it everyday but one day i fed it a big chunck of squid and it closed up for two day.
