Dersa clam best for my first clam?

I am considering getting a clam. My tank is a 29 gal with plenty of flow. It is lit by a 250w 14k hamilton MH. Only 2 fish, clown and royal gramma. I would like to keep the clam on the sandbed and from what I have read it seems dersas are suggested for first time clam owners. Do the others just require more maintenance or something? I really like the teardrop clams, what suggestions can you give me regarding my first clam? site to busy to use search TIA!!!

a Derasa would be a great first clam. however under the right conditions it will quickly out grow ur tank

Your have enough light for any type of clam; crocea's are the smallest which might be the best choice for you. Set it on a shell or small rock on the sand and it will be happy.
