DI resin. Is it spent.

Giovanni

AKA Flippa
I just got some DI resin from a guy on ebay. Supposed to be new and un spent. Well it looks like about 2/3 of the beads are gold while the other 1/3 is blue. He stated in his add he states the gold color indicates spent. Is it normal or should I get out a can or woup.

What you probably have is mixed bed cation-anion resin and its probably fine. They are two different colors. Never rely on color changing to tell you resin condition, always use a TDS or conductivity meter.

I'll second the TDS meter, I used to use color changing but it was never consistant enought to rely on.

I do have a TDS meter. I am adding DI to my R/O for the first time. The seller asked me to give them a call on an 800 number so I bet you are correct. Thanks for the quick heads up.

Hey!

Hey!

It was mine...lol

The way the email was worded I thoughtit was like half the cannister was blue and the other gold.

The resin is a blend of 2 resins and only the Anion resins are died. This is completely normal :)

Thanks AZDesertRat, Again :)
