Hello,

I have patches of Dino's appearing, what is the best way to beat it. I know identifying the strain will help with the battle but is Hydrogen Peroxide an all-rounder?

Thanks

H2O2 is supposed to be better at combating cyano than dinos. The 3% H2O2 dosage rate is 1 ml per 8 gals every 12 hours. I've had best success defeating dinos by going lights out for 3 days, once a month every month. It's best to use black garbage bags on the outside to keep out even ambient light.

Using UV sterilization worked for me, and safer than peroxide. Depends on your tank. Fish only? Go for it. Reef? I'd choose a safer alternative.
