Dip

Hi all, getting some coral frags next week from a reefer, I trust the source but after a calamity with fish I'm a bit more tentative. Would you dip the frags and if so which product would you recommend?

Dipping corals won't help with fish disease prevention.

Some folks dip with different things depending on what coral pest they're concerned about, like Bayer for SPS red bugs.

I use Revive, as directed, 15 min, then 2 rinse in tank water, I remove the plug where it is easy to do so, I brush, rinse again, inspect carefully.

I don't remove plugs from leathers.

I dip all corals prior to putting them in my dispaly tank regardless of where they came from. I use both CoralRX and Revive.

I too use a soft toothbrush to brush the coral and remove frag plug where I can.

I dip all my corals, even after my LFS dips them when he bags them up. Not worth the risk. Sad to see so many pods die though :(

i usually do a two step dip. first is bayer insecticide (not for all corals, some don't tolerate this well so check before you use it), and then a normal iodine based coral dip. then i rinse them very, very thoroughly with fresh saltwater.
