Another weekend, another good find :) As much as I am a ricordia type addict, I found this rock at a new LFS that opened and just had to have it - there's 12-15 mushroms on it and some weird thing I need to figure out an ID for (reminds me of goniopora so i'll check in LPS section)

that looks to be bypropsis on the rock. i would frag the shrooms and flowerpot off the rock and take the rest of the rock out before it spreads.

actually it isnt.. turns out its a very weird strain of goniopora either ciliatus or norfolk .. when its retracted theres no outward impressions like galaxea has more indents than anything...

pulled most of the bryopsis off and everything is just looking great.. still no sign of sweepers so unless they show up im 98% sure it isnt galaxea but what a cool piece of coral .. the place i got it from had a "any rock in this tank $40" and i was like OKAY THAT ONE! wheee"

I think I know what store youre talking about, and I love that their polyp and mushroom rocks are only $40! I need to go in there this weekend and see if they got some more good stuff like what you just got! I LOVE the shrooms!! After they start spreading, you'll have to sell me a few :D lol

I'd be happy to do a trade or something :)

Imagine if i brought one of those to the club auction night? people who have seen the pics would go nuts. I couldnt believe what a simple striped mushroom was going for ;p

Yeah the new lake mary store rocks i'll have to get up there again sometime soon to check it out.. gotta find a new job first though :):)

I LOVE that store! Its alot closer to me than ones in Orlando, so Im a frequent shopper there. I only have a bunch of small frags in my tank, but when some of it spreads, Im up for a trade.

I found those same shooms being sold in a small shop in MO and i bought them, only to have them melt away.
I have never lost a shroom till that point and i have not lost any since.

I am up for a trade, id love to give them a shot again. They are very nice lookin.

I love Discos. Here's one I recently picked up. The photo is taken under my actinics so it's a little hard to tell, but they are green with red speckles. The rock also has a hitch hiker favia and green sarco on it.
