Diy 20l

I love your idea for the ssilencer for the skimmer i made one for my tank and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the great idea.

Here's a little update. The BTA split, I got rid of some shrooms most of the gsp and the small leather. Picked up another frag, and a female scooter dragonet.

Tank is looking great. Did you happen to notice that your scooter blenny has a face print on the dorsal fin in the picture on page 3.

It's been too long, I'll make this short..... the cleaner shrimp died, the scooter dragonet died. sold the female clown because she was going to kill her mate. I went back to th lfs a week later and saw her for sale for $ 40.00 !##$$ *** she's just a clown, they said she's the biggest they had ever seen, so i said thanks for shafting me and only giving me $10.00. for her. Got a replacement for the other clown all is well for now.....

no water change since 9.6.10. you do the math, I'm going to bed.

sorry to hear about your losses and LFS "typical" experience. I saw you have some bubble algae growing. I got rid of mine during my last water change. I took the rock out that was infected and removed the algae by using a razor blade to cut it off. I simply rinsed it in the used water throughly I had removed during the water change and returned it to the tank....ALL GONE...

new to your thread. get on that water change your tank is very nice i have that exact scooter blenny if your going to get another one pellets and copa pods are the best for them i use spectrum A they come in all sizes i use the second to smallest size they make. i do believe uping your mag and adding a emeraled crab will get ride of the bubble alge correct me if im wrong.... i have plans of setting up a tank just like yours same o.f. and sump and f. lfs there in it for the $

Thanks for the input guys! The thing is..... I actually like bubble algae, I know I'm weird. I have some in the display and lots in the refuge. Thanks for your recommendations though. Here's a few pics, keep in mind that this is 12 months of growth, there's all kinds of life down there.

Thanks everyone!

The bulb combo I use are as follows Left=Back / Right=Front:

1. Hagen Power-Glo 18000K (Back)
2. Current Actinic 420nm
3. Current 10000K
4. Current Actinic 460nm (Front)

The bulbs are 7 months old and I feel they do not produce enough par, although they do produce a nice color.

This is a unaltered photo taken with a Nikon D50 and a Tamron macro lens:

I know this is an old post but I stumbled on here looking for a comparison of the 18000 bulb and a 420. Thanks for posting it. I haven't been on these boards in a long time. Funny how I just came across then again.
