diy calcium reactor

i am wondering if you can take a phosphate reactor and use it as a calcium reactor or if anyone has a diy idea with just using a power head and not co2

You need the CO2 to dissolve the ca media at an appropriate. That's the purpose of it. You may get a slight bit of dissolution wihtout the CO2, but not nearly enough to keep up with the demand of any size tank.

Do a search for DIY calcium reactors, there are plenty out there, but the CO2 is required.

reeflagoon, if you are wanting to raise the Ca level in your system without using CO2, build a Kalk reactor instead. The Ca reactor has to have the CO2 in order to work properly.
