DIY Dual Head Peristaltic Pump help

Nope... asking you :)

Stu mentioned he only gets a week or two out of the silicone tubing in a Masterflex 24 head. The Pharmed and Norprene tubing is rated at 4000 hours vs 80-100 for the silicone. Howevemr the Pharmed and Norprene may not last nearly that long due to the PH of the alk solution.

Ha! :)

Yeah, i don't know. I actually didn't specify on my "new" APT top off pump, so i'm not sure what type if came with.

Another confession, i assumed the tubing on the heads i purchased about a year ago were silicone - but i'm not certain. I actually just ran some water through them and then put them onto the system. I don't know what these heads were used for pumping before i got them, so i kind of took a chance there. I'm not sure what kind of tubing they are for sure, but it's lasted just fine so far. Maybe i could get a picture of it and someone could ID it.

Is the tubing clear or opaque? Is it cream colored, or black?

First two would likely be silicones and the third and fourth would likely be pharmed or norprene.

One other thing is not being taken into consideration. The data given for tubing life is for tubing used at 80 percent of the top pressure rating for the tubing. With ATO and supplement systems the pressure will be nearly non existant as all the pressure will be due only to tubing/pipe friction and possibly some static head. It is unlikely that anyone will be pushing supplements through filters or into pressurized lines such as high pressure return lines from huge Sequence/Iwaki pumps.

The tubing is a white opaque (or translucent"ish" opaque).

Re pressure, i have the two dosing tanks above the pumps and pull a siphon. So the pumps are seeing only about 2-3 feet of head on the input side.

How long is pharmed (is that the white?) supposed to last?
