DIY Ecosystem Aquarium Filter Plans

I have tried searching the net for some DIY plans on an Ecosystem Aquarium Deluxe Filter. I am in process of setting up a new reef tank and would like to go with an Ecosystem filter. They are a lil bit expensive, so I'd like to try constructing one myself if possible. If anyone has any links, plans, or ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

Unless I'm totally missing something, these look like regular sumps but are priced outrageously??
