I found a couple of thread about diy vortech battery backup, but could not find one to use a portable battery.

Is somebody to try to use a cable like above?

What are you trying to do? Use a car battery as your backup? I modified a UPS to provide 12v to my Vortech in the case of a power outage.

You just need a (large) 12v battery, trickle charger, and a common 12v male power cable. A bit of soldering preferably.

Aren't all batteries portable? :p
Maybe they mean those usb lithium battery packs for charging cell phones or whatever...

Sorry. I am wondering if we can use the usb cable with a battery we use for charging a smartphone.

Whats the output of the battery pack?...likely 5v..
And whats the voltage the pumps need?.. Likely not 5v..
You likely need an additional dc-dc boost converter

And you need to take into account the rate the powerbank can deliver its power. A lot will not be designed to run at the same power as a pump, never mind the additional power loss due to the step up converter...

Its possible to do.

Its not feasible to do.

You won't like how much you will need to spend just to make them go together and 'work', because it won't last for anywhere NEAR the amount of time you would need it to last.
