Do they make 1 way ball valves?

I am looking to see if they make one way ball valves. I currently have a Mag 18 in my return sump with a ball valve (Home Depot) the ones that have the T red handle in which water can run both ways. When a power outage occurs if it does the water will run back into the sump and flood over and onto the floor. I am wondering if they make a one way ball valve. I believe my flex hosing is 3/4 or 1" which is waht I currently have hooked up to my ball valve.

Thanks in advance

They do make check valves that you can install, but they have a resistance to the flow that has to be overcome by your pump. Marine Depot has some in their plumbing section. The best thing to do is redesign your sump to hold all the water, should there be a power outage, or get a bigger sump to fit under neath your stand.

Thanks Guys. I should have thought of this before posting, but too late. I am just going to drill a 1/8: hole into my retrun tube the height in which I want the water not to go below.

Thanks

Garrick....after you drill the hole (holes)..... you can use this method to determine your operating sump level. When your tank is operating normally... i.e. normal tank levels, turn off all of your pumps (including the skimmer pump) and allow enough time for all the water to drain back into the sump. Now you can fill the sump with fresh salt water to within 1" of the top of the sump. Start the pumps and allow everything to stabilize out. MARK THIS LEVEL. You now know the safe operating level of your sump.....if your sump goes much above this line while operating (like from water additions) you run the risk of overflow when the pumps go off.

That's what I did, when I had a third return pump. The added benifit: When the pump is on and the water is shooting out of the hole, it will create an additional ripple effect on the water
