Do you change water while using Chem Marin?

I have an ich problem in my 55 G reef. Ive used the chem marin for the first of the 5 days and the water smells a litle funny and has a slight brownish tint. The bottle mensions nothing of water changes during the 5 day treatment. What do you think? and advice is greatly appreciated.

Make water changes as necessary to maintain water quality. How do all the tests look? Are you sure you have Marine Ich?

In general, treating the reef with these 'reef safe' chemicals is risky at best. Something(s) will suffer and/or die and in the long run, and the Marine Ich won't be totally eradicated is the usual results.
