I am leaving the hobby. Does anyone have suggestions on how to sell a salt water aquarium setup? I assume I’ll be listing the inventory for sale. Where would one get best marketing results on advertising the system. I’m thinking a posting in a fish store? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try HERE! Post in your local forum and see if you get a bite. Your LFS are a good start also as well as craigslist.

Actually, you may need 50 posts to sell there but not sure?

Yeah, your best bet is to do it here. Most people browse the sale forums just to see what people are getting rid of. Heck, i've driven 100 miles to buy from a member b4!

I would part it out individually. I've seen whole setups not sell and the price keep getting reduced on craigs list.

Post in your local forum. You might get a buyer that want the whole setup.

Be prepared to "lose your shirt"...

You will be considered very lucky if you an recoup half of what you spent (even if you just bought it last week) - and 30% is probably closer to the norm.
