Does anyone have Super Blue Ricordea and Ice Blue Zoo's
on a rock... Or in a nice cluster that they could share a pic
of.

I just think these two would make a nice show piece.

Also all of you experienced Ricordea growers out there,
how are they handling your MH's?

I could combine these two....:D

Florida rics love the MH light, yuma rics die rather fast under it.

Then acclimate the yumas to the MH....:)

I have tried and tried and tried.... Im losin another one as i write this.

Its a 150w geismann megachrome blue, maybe the bulb is just too insane for them. I have it raised all the way to the ceiling so its a good 2 foot off the tank and i still put eggcrate over the tank to try and acclimate yuma in the shade, on the sandbed, in a 20g high.

I have one rock from liveaquaria that seems to be doing fantastic. One single yuma thats bright green that does great, the other 20 yuma i have purchased have not done so well. I am done with them, what i have now will either live or die and thats the end of the story, in not buying anymore.

Personally i have had great luck and have acclimated them fine to my T5's.

My precedure on acclimating them is first and foremost, drip acclimating, shade them in my 5g (Powercompacts), wait 2 weeks for it to settle in letting the shade off, drip acclimating them to my main 33g and shading them again for another 2 weeks.

Yes, i know it sounds stupid but reading so much how people cant keeop these guys scares me. Especially when your buying a $50+ Red/pink yuma. :D

50 bucks wont even cover 1/4 of the shipping costs i have paid for yuma. I have wasted too much time and money on em, not to mention the headache and stress and added work. Floridas are much prettier IMO =-)

I have 150 w 20k M/H. I have my yuma on the sand and they are doing soo well. they are about 5" radius. I had to put my florida ricordea closer to the top and they are getting sooo big. I have never acclimated any ricordea, call me supid but they are all doing well
