Does live rock need a light in the refuge?

I've ordered a NanoCube DX 12 gallon, which has 3 chambers in the back of the aquarium.

Chamber 2 will be filled with chaeto and have a growlight on the back.

Chamber 1 will be filled with live rock rubble.

Will the live rock rubble need a light?
