dosing phyto and protein skimming

I began to dose DT's Phytoplankton the last month and noticed that my skimmer goes nuts for about a day and a half after I dose. Does anyone else have this problem and do you shut off your skimmer for a certain timeframe if you do? Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the quick replys. That is what I though but just wanted to ddouble check. One other question, would this possibly cause a small algae outbreak?

It could, but not a big deal. You may have to clean your front glass
more, but that just feeds your tank more.

No You wont get a algae bloom if the skimmer is shut off for an hour. There are people who dont have skimmers and they dont have algae bloom problems, you will be fine.
The only time you will have algae blooms is if your maintenance isnt up to par, you increase your lighting, overfeed.
