Dottybacks

Hi,

Does anyone keepmore than one type of pseudochromis in a single tank?

I've got a 100gal reef with an Orchid Dottyback (Pseudochromis Fridmani) I'm thinking of adding another pseudochromis but don't want to start WW3.

I know these a territorial, aggresive little fish - but how territorial and how aggresive? Does anyone have any experience?

Thanks

Mark

You could add another Orchid Dottyback, try to get a pair, which would work. Most Dottyback/Basslets are hard to keep more than one in the tank, though Orchids aren't as aggressive as the others. If you want to try you can get a Springeri or Sunrise as they're pretty non-aggressive, along the line of the Orchid, an may work in the tank. It's going to be hit or miss though.

I used to have a 2 Sunrise Dottyback in a 75 Fowlr tank, put them in at the same time, and they where fine never bother each other. Same can be said for Royal Grammas.

I have a pair of Orchids in my 75, they were introduced at the same time and supposedly a mated pair they go at each other once in a while but nothing too serious. Adding another one to your tank might cause some problems though.
