double powerhead?

is there such a thing as a double power head? i would like a power head that spits out at both ends to i can place it in the center of my tank and it can blow water at the left and right.
(i dont have a sump or drilled tank)

Maybe if you want your powerhead to do that you should maybe look into the ZooMed pumps they have rotatin power heads, I have 2 of them in my tank each one does 270gph. and I just clean them every other month and they keep on doing great, some people will say their junk, but I like them

Their not to bad for the price you pay for the biggest one they sell

Not to bad for the money $27.99,

What did you think?

Just alittle TLC and they will run for a long time and hey if they do break down ZooMed will be gladly to help with replacement parts, They really aren't that bad

so if i place it in the center of a 55 gallon tank, about 6" below the surface it should blow currents to the left and right sides??
thats pretty good.... ill buy it, and yea it is cheap so if it doesnt work right or whatever then its not much money lost :)

i have seen people use loc-line to split the flow on maxi-jets. it can be done but its almost as cheap to buy two maxi-jets :)

What about the SCID pronounced squid? That will also give you good flow and 2 outlets.. It's a form of a wave maker... cost is about 20 bucks, i believe..

SCWD, will work but he would still need an external pump, and make a closed loop system.

I agree with that thats why i put the link their...

i have 2 zoo med pumps in my 55 gallon tank that are on oppsite sides of the tank half way down and I turned one on and when I saw it in the postion oppsite of my other ZooMed then I turned the other one, I'm also thinkin about buying a 3rd. Zoomed pump because I want one in the middle right at the top about only 2 inches down so that I have flow on the top of my rocks just to make it a really good current in their....

I have six of the large Zoo Med pump on my 125g tank.

They are okay but you gotta keep them clean!

If I could go back in time I ould of bought some Aqua Clear or Maxi-jet power heads with the rotating swirlly thing made by Hydor.

I like my ZooMed's But i've never come across the aqua clear, or the maxi jet well at leats with the rotating swirly thing that your talking about do you have a link for that ???

I used the Hydor's for my old 29G because my powerheads were too powerful ... they reduce the flow by quite a bit and can easily become gummed up and stop rotating. I'm not a fan of moving parts in aquariums anymore.
