Question for Randy if hes around. I cant find Dowflake or any of the other suggested substitues locally. I can find (Generic Ice melt) though. Listed ingrediants are Calcium chloride and Sodium Chloride and water. It is dry pellets in a plactic container. Those are the only ingediants listed on the container. Does this sound like something that is OK to Substitute for the Dowflake??? Thanks a bunch.

In general, I cannot tell if any other brands than those listed in the article are OK, but one that specifically lists sodium chloride wouldn't be a good choice.
