Downgraded/upgraded again...what do you think?

I downsized from my 54G corner...to a 12G aquapod...to a 5.5G rimless. Unfortunately it was by necessity, not by choice. Once I graduate then I will re-upsize again.
But you gotta deal with the cards you're dealt, and I'm pretty happy with it so far!

Sg 1.024
Temp 79
KH 8.6

Corals: Ric, Todd's Torch, Green hammer (has had better days), Purple torch I bought yesterday from ABC Aquarium, GSP's, 10-12 paly's, 2 torch skeletons that I am hoping will spontaneously regenerate (cross your fingers)

Fish: 1PJ cadinal, 1 unknown fish w/ yellow and black stripes

CUC: mini brittle stars...I forgot to pick some snails & crabs up yesterday

Light: RapidLED Par38

Equiptment: HOB filter, 25w heater, 1 powerhead

Hoping to add ATO tonight, just have to modify the float switch so it's not as noticeable. I would love to get some dosing pumps, but they're a lot more expensive than I thought they would be.
I'd love some input on how to improve it or what I'm doing wrong!

Yeah, I dig it. Remember, its a hobby. Not everyone has to have a 300 gallon starphire tank to participate. As long as you're happy with it, that's what's important. Fwiw, 5.5s are harder to do than the big boys IMO.

Again, I dig it!

Very nice! I have a lot of respect for successful nano reef keepers. It seems like it requires a lot of discipline in terms of both maintenance and making the best use of the space.

very cool, love the setup....ive been toying with the idea of my own nano for years......i dont think ill ever get one unless the wife makes me ditch my 100 galloner

Thanks everyone! It's coming along.

I dont want you to get in trouble with your wife but...the easiest way to keep a nano is to plumb it into your main tank. is that an option?

nice looking lil tank! I agree nanos are sweet looking when done right and your looks sweet!! Nice simply rock work

Looks great! It doesn't look like there is much equipment hooked up, but could you give us a quick run-down of what you got there?

By the way, that's a striped fang blenny. It's mouth is always open showing it's toothy smile! I have one I got from ABC (syr). It hovers and darts as it exercises amazing swim bladder control. Very fun to watch, especially when it watches you!

Thanks everyone! Special thanks to Johnny C for the tank!

Jacwil: I do have a shade around the LED but it's a big lamp so it doesn't trap in heat.

RedReef85: I dont have much equipment hooked up. Just a HOB filter with a 25w heater inside it and one powerhead. I am currently looking for a mod to make my ATO inconspicuous so I don't have it in there for the picture. I also have a digital thermometer. I've been testing my KH twice daily to see what I'll need in the way of dosing pumps to dose 2 part, but honestly I dont think I have enough coral in there to require dosing pumps yet. I do a 1G water change weekly

Sophie10: Thanks for the info. He's a great little fish! I've never had a problem with him except one time when I scared him and he jumped out of the tank. My bad. He is neat to watch because he hovers around differently than other fish that I've seen. I'm just worried about the two of them in such a small tank.

Your welcome! Mine never jumped but when doing water change, sometimes he goes into the return tube! The two fish should be no problem together, but....that is really a very small tank for those fish. Tank looks great! Good luck with the tank and with school!
