I have a 210 Gal aquarium and I'm getting a sump for it.

My question is what are the pro's and con's of drilling the tank and is worth the hassel

Thanx

Worth the hassle... yes. Why? because its a cleaner look for your equipment and or lack there of hanging over the edge of your tank. cons: would be only if you crack your tank while drilling it. I would recommend that if you do choose to drill it, that your piping is larger than you actually need... you can valve it down if need be but if you ever choose to put a bigger pump in to increase flow etc.. you will have to redrill... more money ..more risk. Think 2" bulkheads.

I would get it drilled. In addition to looking nicer, I've never been able to trust U-tube overflows all that much.

Better yet, drill it yourself. I debated for a while over whether or not to drill my 75. I finally bought a diamond hole saw off of e-bay for ~$15 incl shipping. It took me 20min to do the job including clean-up. Piece of cake. Check the thread in the DIY forum by JustOneMoreTank.

no drilling tempered glass, most tanks that arent drilled have a tempered bottom, be careful.
