Drip...What is this???

I have been reading many post and have seen the word "drip" in most of them. What does the word drip mean and what is it used for???

"drip" is usually refered to drip aclimation, the method is take water is dripped into the new specimens water to acclimate it to the new tank, usually done by using a peice of airline tube and something to regulate the flow, similar to an iv drip at a hospital

can also be a way to add an additive to your tank. like dripping kalkwasser, or top-off water.

Like paintbug said about the drip of kalkwasser/limewater for water top-off, adds calcium and helps stabilize the tank PH thus must be dripped to avoid a PH spike above recommended level
