Dual pump Return 90g AGA Y/N

Posted my noisy pump return earlier. (Too much vibration). few responses. From that I'm thinking of using 2 eheim 1260's as returns. One to the main return and then using a SCWD off the other. This will reduce powerheads I Hope. Concerned about heat transfer. They say the eheim can be used externally. True Y/N. I'm still planning ,but don't want to keep paying for pumps that I can't use

2 will probably overpower the overflow or at the very least make it very noisy. I use one Eheim 1264 on mine and it works just about perfect IMO.

I have little experience with eheims, but I run Mag drive pumps external (despite people saying they burn up) with no problems. I would say you're probably okay. Is running submersed not an option? If you're really worried, perhaps you should consider an external pump such as an iwaki, little giant or sequence. You shouldn't have a problem with your overflow, I don't think. Of course high flow is noisey, but it's necessary for good coral health. Good Luck.

FWIW to run that much flow through an AGA Megaflow overflow you will most likely need to modify it(and have a large sump to get rid of microbubbles). Good flow is necessary but getting it all from your return (unless you have a custom tank with a very large overflow) is nearly impossible.
