dye job?

Gary, Do you have this coral or is this a pic from lfs or online? It sure is pretty. Looks healthy as well. Are dye jobs still happening?. naive question, but I thought maybe vendors/collectors had maybe stopped this practice. I have not seen any threads about dyed corals in quite a while.

This is a pic of a coral in my aquarium. It came from 'Marine Oasis' in Spencerport and I'm fairly sure they got it from George @ 'SDC'.
I believe this Mussid is a Symphyllia , but I'm not positive about the ID.
The coloration is freakish and yes- some invertebrates offered for sale are still dyed, but I don't think this one is...

Gary, we've gotten a few Symphyllia's just like that in the past few months, though infrequent. I believe they were in some Tonga shipments, but I'll have to check. They did, however come in as Lobo's, but I agree with you that they are symphyllia. I don't believe they are dyed at all..... FWIW

Matt

Gary, just checked, and they were coming in on Bali shipments, not Tonga ;) (which is probably why I came to the conclusion they were Symphillia corals)
