I have to be the only person in the world who can't keep a Kenya. in about six months in just got smaller until it disappeared. all my other softies are doing fine. could it be that I have no nitrates? I know some say that certain softies don't do well in water that's too clean. I don't want to get another one if it's going to do the same thing.

lighting is two Chinese 120w dimmable units hung 10" above water. white at 50%, blues at 70%.

I have gsp, clove polyps, zoas, mushrooms, toadstools, cabbage, colt, and finger leathers.
all corals are fine and growing. it was just the Kenya.

Salinity is measured in % normal is 35 SG should be 1.026
What is your alkalinity?

Most of the time Kenya's seem to survive just about anything. My first one came in as a very very tiny little piece on some live rock that I used to cycle my tank. It survived that and much more. Maybe it just got sick and died. Happens to all living creatures, ourselves included. I would try again if you really want it in your tank. You can get the frags for next to nothing, or even free if you ask around. Won't hurt to try.

I am going through the same thing. I can't for the life of me get any Kenya's to thrive in my tank. I've tried 3 different Kenyas at different times and all 3 have kicked the bucket. I just gave up on Kenyas.
