EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40 Release Information

Agreed but I think the stock controller will be useless for smaller tanks like mine. I am sure it will be like a tunze where it will swing from low to medium (30% to 50%.)

Don't be so sure of anything.

Good news, don't forget about us small tank owners. The vortec is popular for small tanks because it is small

Exactly. I've got one on my 30gal cube right next to me in my office.

so i picked up one of these new from another memeber. I have every intention of picking up another 1 or two and running them with a controller. The one I bought was made in january. Is there somethign I need to do to make it functional with the new contolle rin the works?

Is there a controller out for this yet?? I am considering one and wanted to know. Also how long will the battery back up last??
What GPH is the lowest setting?
Lastly I read some things were happening on these in the forum, anything i should know if I buy one this week?

No controller yet. They are making one though. I think the lowest setting is 2 or 300 gph. I don't know the info on the battery backup but I do know it was a long time.

Even for bigger tanks I think you need something that goes from very slow (5%) then up.

Cycling down only to the 30% won't give a very good wave/sway.

we have the same tank, and i added a vortech today,
i had no problem running it with my modded 6025 nano stream and it running 60-70%

Hey GSM, can you post a pic of your modded 6025? (maybe not here :) )I am interested to see how it compares to mine.

And BTW, all this speculation about how the as yet unseen controller will work is a waste of time. Believe me, Eco-Tech is not going to release a controller that can only take the pump down to 30%. That would be assinine.

my mods are kinda ghetto ill pm you a pic.

Jnarowe when that wireless controller comes out your 4-10 vortechs will be allot of fun. i can see myself on a couch messing with the flow watching the fish swim :)

cool!

Yes, I plan to let the orange shoulder sneak up on a 10% Vortech to get a bite of algae, and then blast him across the tank! Then I will chase him around with a submarine...

sweet. thanks for the heads up Marc. Just got off the phone with Tim and he says they will do animation on their site to show how the pumps can be set up for different wave effects. Now I need to change my pants!

Hello Tim, i have one of the first editions to go out that has finally died. I ordered a new one from Champion that should be here in a day or so. I had some problems with the original one i received so you guys sent me one that had been running on your system. It ran flawlessly up to this point. I would like to have this one rebuilt as a backup. Can you take care of that. Thanks Mike
