I was curious if anyone else is using an electronic water softener. I have had one since I first setup my tank. My understanding of the device is that it essentially ionizes hard water to prevent the Magnesium and Calcium from plating out in your plumbing.
My results are that my copper piping is completely devoid of internal deposits and all existing deposits were removed by this device. However, because the Mg and Ca are still in the water, they do tend to release into faucets though not at the same rate as without the softener.
Anyone else have experience with this type of device?
