elegance coral dieing after feeding him a shrimp for the fish market now going on 3 days he is pretty closed up.

I figure he is a goner am I correct?

Is there anything I can do? I started running carbon.

Can his moving on cause problems for my tank should I take him out run carbon or will it not affect my tank if he dies.

Thanks for any help he is my first one had for 6 months or so

Can you post a pic? I don't think the shrimp is whats causing your problems. It was most likely full of phosphate but this normally won't kill the coral in the first feeding.

lookin

lookin

lookin better he is opened up a little today he is about half his normal size.

I turned down the flow some today to make sure thats not the issue added a tunze but it should not have been much of an increase in flow 300gph in. one for another new one pulses

I still think it had to do with food or something got in my water
b/c all other LPS and lots SPS OK.

he sucked up tight

He does seem to act funny in mornings latly when i added dried seaweed for fish he withdrew his tenticles (sp.) for a little while but never his whole body like he was past 3 days.

But thats about all i can think of if he withdraws agian i take a pic.

Thanks for reply

I would not feed your Elegance food from your grocery store. They put phosphates and other preservatives in our food that is not good for your coral. I'm glad to hear things are better. If you run into more problems let us know. Good Luck!
