can anybody help i have a elegance coral witch has been very healthy, but yesterday i noticed a black spot on it and about 10 or so tenticals shrunken and black, it also has some cotton looking stuff on the black part. it has done it before but not this bad. is it dying, can it be treated easily. if anyone can help it would be appreciated....
thanks:confused:

Can you post a pic?
I'm just guessing, but it sounds like someone in the tank has attacked it. Is the "cotton looking stuff" tiny white strings? If so there are small punctures in the corals tissue. The dark coloration could be caused by the coral retracting in the affected area. We could be of more help if we had a pic.

i hope this pic is ok yeah it is like tiny white strings, could the brain coral near it be causing it problems i have watched them at night and it dosent seem to have long tenticales that come from it so im not to sure. what do you think....

Ouch! That looks painfull.
It is most likely the brain coral. I would move one of them so that there is no way sweeper tentacles could reach the Elegance. That is a beautiful Elegance and it would be a shame to lose him over this. Good luck and let me know how this turns out. My fingers are crossed for him.
