emerald crab vs live rock ?

I just noticed that two pieces have been broken off one of my live rocks and my emerald crab is sitting on on his bottom eating algae off of one of the pieces. Eating it off the rock like we eat corn off the cob. Very entertaining to watch. :) Is it possible that the crab broke the pieces of rock off? If he did does this mean he probally will not be nice to my corals once I start stocking them? OT but what is really good at eating the green algae?

Ferric Oxide, feed less, more water changes, or some containable macro algae in a fuge if that is an option for you. I used to have the same problem and I wouldn't recommend trying to defeat it with another living organism. Often, once it has done it's job, you end up having to feed it algae to the specific creature. Similar to tayloring your swing to get around a slice, if golf is your thing. If you really like one you find and are willing to do this by all means go for it
