emerald food?

i wnet to the lfs today to get more hurmits, got 20 hermits and 1 emerald crab. is it normal if a smithii cant puncture a emerald crabs shell? i also have good news, the lfs is giving me all the rock crabs they egt in there live rock shipments each week.

My wennerae has taken some strikes on two of the emeralds in my 5 nano, but with he has yet to have any success breaking his shell....

will the emerald try to eat my mantis if i dont feed him alot?

I Highly doubt it!! Mine are recluses and just blend into the rockwork untill krill enter the tank, then they scurry around trying to find it sometimes, otherthan that, the only time I see them move is when they get a couple whacks, and that has only been a few times...
