Enough light for at least a decently pretty clam?

It was suggested that I move my thread from the "newbee" area to here... so...
with the specs in my profile, can I keep any decent looking clams in my reef tank? I am trying to plan out my critter profile.

Cycle has "just" completed.

Seems pretty bright in there.

The Coralife is 2-96 Watt PC's (lunars) Depth of tank is 17" to the DSB.

Thanks!

Hate to say it, but no. That's not enough light for any clam. Maybe H. Hippopus, but I still wouldn't.

People consider the "pretty clams" T. Maxima and T. Crocea. You would likely want 250 watt MH bulb for them in your tank. Minimum of 150w MH. Unfortunately the same wattage from another light source like PC wouldn't cut it due to the PAR.

I agree - not enough light even at the top. Plus your tank just cycled. Clams need a solid tank (I usually say at least a year but I'm very conservative)..

Take your time and be patient! Good luck!
