Euro Reef gate valve mod

I am looking to do the gate valve mod on my euro reef CS 8-1. My reason for doing this is to control the amount of water coming out of the riser tube as the skimmer sits in a very shallow sump ( all glass 33 gallon). Does anyone have any pics of this mod along with a parts list. Also, if you have done this, how does it work for you. Thanks,

I have done the upgrade on my CS6-1 and it made big difference. Much greater control over the unit.

mcmaster-carr has the gate valves also..and has them in dark gray if needed.

Definitely do the mod as it is really easy to control the water level for any skimmer.

You can buy the gate valve at Ace Hardware and of course all the other PVC tubing.
