I guess its time for me to join I've had my ES 5-2 for about a year now and I couldn't be happier.:D

ES 5-2 i have a brand new

had a bak-pak skimmer for 6 months and went to this

(48 hours and i just have a billion bubbles and nothing skimmed yet)

29 gal barebone, 25 sps ,2 fish, 1 crab, 1 shrimp, 20-40 snalls

all i got from the cpr is green water

I used bak-pak skimmer for a year with great result.

But my Euro Reef RS8-1 was sitting here for a couple of months since I bought it. So, I decided to use it now for my 20g tank. :)

Hey all --

I'm thinking of getting something along the lines of a 6-2, 6-1, or possibly even a 5-2. For those of you that have made such a purchase, how big was the packaging? Anyone have box dimensions I should expect? My wife and kids are visiting grandma's house (couldn't get off work for a week right now) and may be willing to bring me back a skimmer if there's room in the car ...

Thanks!

Jon -

My CS 5-3 came in a box that was 9" square on the ends and about 28" long.

BTW, it works great!

Will

We have had a CS6-2 for about a week and love it. The bax it came in is huge. It was approx. 20 x 20 x 48. The packaging is unreal. Short of crushing the box I dont see how the skimmer could be damaged during shipping.

I had an 8-3 with the box and it was massive. Euroreef has, hands down, the best packaging I've seen

Hello all ~ I am about to upgrade to a ES5-2 with a Dolphin(DP560) pump on a 54 gal tank
I now have a sealifesystem NV75 skimmer on the tank .
any thoughts on this upgrade - will it improve my water quality ?

My 6-2+ (6-2 w/ a larger pump) box is 35.5" X 12" X 12"

You could always strap a child to the roof and put the ER skimmer in their place can't you? :D

You know, I just might do that! I'm sure my 4-year-old would love the "airplane ride" back home.

Anyone have any idea on whether or not I'd be able to "upgrade" a current model 6-2 to the new beta pump and impeller should it ever become available?

I think like this would work. Looks like this child is having fun....

You should be able to upgrade it in about 3-4 months when the pumps are released (If the testing goes well). I know they're gonna offer upgrades for the CS series, but I don't know about the RS series. They're both almost identical, but I asked Jeff from ER if I could do a test with my RS6-2+ and he said no because it was an RS model. I'm not sure why, but that's what the man said. I would think they would be upgradeable, but it wouldn't hurt to buy the CS online just in case. JMO. Jim

Maybe I'll try to fire off an email to the EuroReef guys themselves and see what I can find out. Do most people have better luck emailing h2otropicals or euro-reef?

Am I crazy for thinking of putting a 6-2 on my 37g?

Well mine was supposed to ship last wednesday and be here tomarrow, but it didn't get shipped until today so I won't receive it until thursday or friday.

Just means you are ready, at least from a skimmer perspective, for an upgrade in tank size.

If you have zero intentions on upgrading in the next few years, you can get by with a 5-2 on a 37.
