Has anyone bought one of those EuroReef RS5-3 and ES5-3 BLEM's for $140.00? It says they come with a factory warranty. If so, what was the BLEM? How has it worked out?

This is not with H2O Tropicals, although this company probably gets them the same way. I figure, if it comes with a factory warranty, its worth a shot. H2O Tropicals wanted $203 for there RS5-3.

The company is called Skimmerland USA, Its in CA somewhere. He sells on Ebay too. He has sold 43 of these units that I know of and gets them in lots. I have contacted as many of his previous buyers as I could and asked them to tell me what the BLEMS were and how things were going. So far 5 have replied and said that the BLEMS were very small cracks or things that were loose that had been repaired at the factory. In most cases parts were swapped out from other units. All were 100% satisfied. He has positive feedback on all 43 buyers. I am going to go ahead and get one today. There is 10 left, 9 in one minute.

I'd be skeptical unless it's someone from Euroreef.
H2O and Euroreef = same owners (afaik). I cannot imagine they would send off the blems to some third party.
Could be wrong of course.

I was thinking of getting one, but have heard bad things about their custimer service. This is one thread on it, there are more.

Well I read the link and have to say that I have not had problems with Euro-Reef. First if your skimmer is over a year than you are out of warrranty on the pump. The impeller is nothing. I guess if you are proactive instead of reactive you would have an extra pump and an extra impeller. (I DO). anyone that has suffered downtime (with any vendor) has taken steps to insure the next time it does not happen or if it does they are prepared for it.

Well I recieved a Tracking number today via E-mail. I ordered it Monday and it shipped in less than 48 hours. Like I said before, "theskimmerman" on Ebay has 45 positive feedbacks, all saying fast shipping, great product. I personally messaged as many of the previous buyers as I could and all that responded said that the BLEMS were either not known or very trivial. When I get it I will post PIC's.

It came today. I have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and can not find any BLEM. What ever it was returned for must have been replaced. It came in factory packing with a factory serial number, registration and warranty. Pic's as promised.
