Everyone from Springfield OK

I was watching the weather and they said a half mile wide Tornado went through the northen part of springfield.

Start the generator. If you have a small tank you may be able to use a power inverter to take a 12 car battery and generate 120Vac to run pumps. When I loose power I first try to get the pumps back on line. Second heat or cool the tank. Third run the lights. If all else fails siphon water out of one end of the tank and then pour it back into the other end. I've had power lost on my old 125G tank for a day and everything lived. I was out of town when it happened.

Wow, I'm not the only one waiting up for the power to go out to take care of the tanks. How are you guys doing so far? I'm way up north from all of you, and we keep getting warnings on the TV.

it was a little hairy last night but I survived

My power just come back on. was off for about 13 hours everything in my tank survived. I was unfortunate as I got caught out on the road when it hit. I ended up holding up next to JC Penny. Pretty eerie seeing signs and stoplights going flying by you. The hardest part was trying to get home driving around all of the downed power lines it was like a maze. I live across from the airport north of town and by some miracle no damage in my neighborhood. I did have a flat tire this morning. Probably from all the tree branches I drove over last night. I don't think there was any power anywhere in Springfield last night. The power plant blew some transformers and they were off line for while last night too. You can can't imagine the devastation of everything. There are complete streets where there is not one stoplight for miles. wal-mart had its roof peeled right off. And blue cross blue shield commercial size air conditioner is in their parking lot. and it just goes on. So for no fatal injuries reported.

Drew..

As tragic as this is, it could have been a lot worse. I am saddend that two people lost their lives, and at the same time I am glad that number was not higher. I wish everybody a speedy recovery.

My home is located about 150 feet from the headless lauterbach guy in the photo's on the link above. My 10g nanoreef was without power from Sunday at 8pm until yesterday at 2pm. I got a generator going to power the blower on my furnace and power the tank. The water temp got down to about 55 deg. but I think everything will recover. The 'shrooms and zoo's are opening up pretty well. I am concerned about my leathers. they looking pretty droopy. My candy cane is the toughest lps in north America. It looks a little PO'ed but it is fine.
My home and garage sustained about 15 thousand dollars damage to roof and insulation, whiteboard. My trees are trashed. It's odd though. This is the worst and scariest thing that has happened to my family yet I don;t think I have felt luckier in my life. Many people's homes and businesses were completely leveled. Life goes on, it has to.
